Blandy's Bual Vintage 1994, 750ml

This 100% Bual is sourced from vineyards on the slopes of Calheta and Arco de São Jorge on Madeira, planted mostly on volcanic soils. The fruit was hand-harvested and macerated during fermentation in stainless steel tanks with natural yeasts. Fermentation was stopped after three days through fortification with 96% neutral grape spirit to preserve the medium-sweet natural sugar levels.
The wine aged for 30 years in seasoned American oak casks under the traditional Canteiro system at the family cellars in Funchal before bottling.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of sweet spices, vanilla, cinnamon, toasted biscuit, and candied dried fruits open on the nose. The palate is medium-sweet and round, showing concentrated dried fruit flavors balanced by fresh acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with notes of toasted hazelnut, caramel, and vanilla.
