Chateau de Laubade Armagnac Millesime 1978, 700ml

This is a single-vintage expression from Château de Laubade, the largest continuous-vineyard property in the Bas Armagnac region. Distilled exclusively from the 1978 harvest using traditional continuous Armagnac alembic stills, the spirit is crafted from a blend of Baco, Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, and Colombard grapes. Aged individually for decades in 400-liter Gascon oak barrels, this single-year bottling was brought to strength at 40% ABV without blending across vintages.

Tasting Note:

Aroma: Complex and inviting with notes of dark chocolate-covered cherries, old saddle leather, and dried apricots. Subtle, sweet-tart hints of grapefruit and warm oak resin emerge with time.

Palate: Lush and intensely honeyed with a creamy, full mid-palate. Concentrated flavors of rich caramel, toffee, maple syrup, and stewed prunes balance dark cocoa and baking spices.

Finish: Silky and semisweet, featuring persistent oak tannins, toasted nuts, and a long, warming finish with lingering notes of leather and dried fruit.
