Domaine Andre Brunel Chateauneuf du Pape "Cuvee Centenaire" Rouge 2022, 750ml

This 85% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, and 5% Syrah blend is produced primarily from vines over 100 years old in the "Fonsalette" and "Bois de la Ville" vineyards, where the soil is composed of large galets roulés over clay. The grapes were hand-harvested and 100% de-stemmed before fermentation began in concrete tanks. The Grenache and Mourvèdre underwent a long maceration and aged for 18 months in concrete vats to maintain fruit purity and focus. The Syrah was aged for 12 months in 1- and 2-year-old French oak barrels to integrate the structure. Following the ageing period, the components were blended and the wine stayed in the bottle for 6 months before release.

Tasting Note:

The nose has complex aromas of kirsch, dark plum, and lavender with mineral undertones. The palate is full-bodied and powerful with exceptionally fine-grained tannins and concentrated flavors of black fruit, garrigue, and black pepper. The finish is very long and persistent with an elegant balance of power and freshness.
