Jean Luc Colombo Cotes du Rhone "Les Abeilles" Blanc 2025, 750ml

Named "Les Abeilles" ("The Bees") in honor of the Colombo family's ongoing initiative supporting local bee conservation and biodiversity in the Rhône Valley. The fruit comes from 25-year-old vines planted on ancient terraces of pebbles and sandy-clay soils near Cairanne, Rasteau, and Vacqueyras. A blend of 80% Clairette and 20% Roussanne, the grapes are hand-harvested and fermented at low temperatures. The Clairette component ages in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, while the Roussanne matures on fine lees in 2- to 5-year-old French oak barrels for 6 months prior to final blending.

Tasting Note:

Fragrant aromas of peach blossom, jasmine, green apple, and fresh pear pair with notes of fennel seed, citrus peel, and crushed chalk. The palate is dry, crisp, and balanced, offering juicy stone-fruit and melon flavors, a bright acidity and a supple core. The finish is clean, energetic, and saline.
