Jean Luc Colombo Hermitage "Le Rouet" Rouge 2023, 750ml

This 100% Syrah is sourced from the granite-heavy soils of the Hermitage hill, specifically from the Les Rouais and Maison Blanche parcels. The grapes were hand-harvested and fully de-stemmed before fermentation began in stainless steel tanks. The wine underwent a maceration period of 25 days to extract tannins and color. The wine aged for 12 months in oak barrels, consisting of 15% new oak and 85% used oak barrels. After the wood ageing was complete, the wine stayed in the bottle for 6 months before release.

Tasting Note:

The nose has aromas of blackberry, violet, and black pepper. The palate has a full body with dense tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is long with notes of smoke and dark chocolate.
