Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits St Georges 1er Cru "Clos des Porrets St Georges" 2023, 750ml

This 100% Pinot Noir is sourced from the 3.57-hectare monopole vineyard of Clos des Porrets St-Georges, situated on pink limestone scree with clay-rich soils on lower slopes. The grapes were 100% destemmed and fermented with native yeasts in temperature-controlled concrete vats. The wine aged in French oak barrels (20% new oak) for approximately 18 months before bottling.

Tasting Note:

The wine opens with aromas of rich pinot fruit, black cherry, dark raspberry, and crushed chalk minerality, accompanied by subtle hints of mulberry, spice, and licorice. The palate is full, energetic, and succulent, showing ripe black and red fruit balanced by talc-like tannins, crunchy acidity, and excellent persistence. The finish is long, clean, and well-structured, leaving a classic Pinot Noir character.
