Chateau de Chamirey Mercurey 1er Cru "Clos des Ruelles" Monopole Rouge 2021, 750ml

This 100% Pinot Noir is sourced from the 2.5-hectare monopole vineyard "Clos des Ruelles," planted on iron-rich, brick-red clay soils facing south-southeast. The fruit was fully destemmed and cold-macerated before fermentation. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled tanks using natural yeasts, followed by 15 months of aging in 228-liter French oak barrels (25% new oak) and an additional 3 months of tank refinement prior to bottling.

Tasting Note:

The wine opens with aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, and subtle licorice spice. The palate is full-bodied and balanced, showing smooth tannins layered over ripe dark fruit and earth. The finish is long and refreshing, marked by a crisp mineral edge.
