Domaine Matrot Volnay 1er Cru "Santenots" 2021, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir sourced from old vines with an average age of around 30 to 35 years planted in the Santenots 1er Cru climat straddling the border of Volnay and Meursault on clay-limestone soils. The domaine follows reasoned viticulture with organic fertilization and regular ploughing of the soils. The grapes are hand harvested, destemmed and undergo fermentation in open wooden vats with indigenous yeasts, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels with approximately 30% new oak.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of red cherry, raspberry, rose petal and subtle earth on the nose. The palate shows concentration with fine tannins, vibrant acidity and mineral tension. The finish is long, elegant and composed.
