Kilkerran "Heavily Peated" Batch 6, 700ml

This is a limited small-batch release within the Heavily Peated series from the Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown. Produced using malted barley peated to approximately 84 ppm and distilled in traditional copper pot stills, the spirit is matured in a composition of 75% ex-bourbon and 25% ex-sherry casks. This bottling is a single cask strength single malt whisky with an alcohol by volume of 57.4%. The distillery utilizes water sourced from Crosshill Loch and follows traditional production methods including long fermentation periods.

Tasting Note:

Aroma: Deep earthy peat smoke and charcoal set the foundation, quickly opening into sweet notes of toasted marshmallows and grilled pineapple. These are supported by a rich maltiness and a distinct maritime saltiness characteristic of the region.

Palate: Robust and oily with a concentrated smokiness balanced by vanilla custard and digestive biscuits. The mid-palate reveals layers of stone fruits, lemon zest, and a touch of savory brine.

Finish: The texture is thick and leads into a long finish of lingering campfire smoke, refined oak spice, and a persistent, honeyed sweetness.
