Les Charmes de Kirwan 2023, 750ml

The second wine of Margaux 3rd Growth Château Kirwan, sourced from younger vines planted on gravel and clay-limestone soils of the Cantenac plateau. A blend of 66% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are fermented in a combination of temperature-controlled stainless steel, concrete, and wooden vats with gentle extraction. The wine ages for 18 to 20 months in French oak barrels (40% new oak, 60% 1- to 2-year-old barrels) prior to fining and bottling.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of fresh blackcurrant, dark cherry, red plum, delicate notes of violet, cedar, and subtle cocoa dust. The palate is dry, medium-bodied, and refined, offering a core of juicy dark berry fruit, fine-grained, velvety tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is clean, persistent, and elegant.
