Tyrrell's Vat 47 Chardonnay 2023, 750ml

This 100% Chardonnay is sourced from the dry-grown Short Flat Vineyard, featuring vines planted in 1968 on alluvial soils. The fruit was handpicked and basket-pressed before cold settling for two days. Fermentation began in stainless steel and was completed in French oak barriques, with approximately 10% new oak. The wine matured on its lees in barrel for 8 months to enhance texture, while malolactic fermentation was strictly blocked to preserve natural acidity.

Tasting Note:

High-pitched aromas of white peach, citrus zest, and nectarine are supported by subtle flinty undertones. The palate is concentrated and precise, characterized by a silky texture and vibrant saline acidity. The finish is long and clean, showing persistent notes of grapefruit and refined oak spice.
