Domaine Francois Carillon Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Macherelles" 2021, 750ml

100% Chardonnay from the Les Macherelles Premier Cru climat in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet on clay-limestone soils with good limestone content. The domaine hand-harvests the grapes, which are gently pressed as whole clusters. The wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels with 10-15% new oak, with lees ageing.

Tasting Note:

The 2021 opens with aromas of lemon, ripe pear, white peach, hazelnut, and white flowers with subtle toasted oak and mineral notes. The palate is medium to full-bodied with rich yet precise fruit, creamy texture balanced by vibrant acidity, fine minerality, and a long, saline, persistent finish. Generous, harmonious, and built for ageing.
