Rockford "Rod & Spur" Shiraz Cabernet 2021, 750ml

This blend of 65% Shiraz and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from independent growers in the Barossa Valley, utilizing fruit from old vines planted in varied soil types including red clay and sandy loam. The grapes were hand-harvested and processed through Rockford's 1880s wooden Bagshaw crusher before fermentation began in traditional slate open-topped fermenters. It aged for 24 months in a combination of seasoned French and American oak hogsheads, which allowed the fruit to remain the primary focus while integrating the tannins.

Tasting Note:

The nose features expressive aromas of plum, blackcurrant, and hints of dried tobacco and cedar. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a soft, rounded texture, displaying flavors of dark berries and subtle earthy spice. The finish is persistent and well-structured with fine-grained tannins and a balanced acidity.
