Domaine Francois Carillon Puligny Montrachet "Le Clos du Vieux Chateau" 2023, 750ml

This 100% Chardonnay is sourced from a 0.64-hectare monopole plot situated directly behind the estate house in the village of Puligny-Montrachet, planted on gravelly, clay-limestone soils. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented with native yeasts in French oak barrels (15% to 20% new oak). The wine aged on its fine lees in barrels for 12 months before resting in stainless steel tanks for an additional 6 months prior to bottling.

Tasting Note:

The wine opens with aromas of lime zest, white blossom, white peach, and warm apple tart, complemented by subtle chalky and saline undertones. The palate is crisp, lively, and focused, offering rich yellow stone fruit flavors balanced by taut, mouthwatering acidity and a silky texture. The finish is long, dry, and structured, ending on a distinct saline mineral note.
