Domaine Francois Carillon Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Macherelles" 2022, 750ml

This 100% Chardonnay comes from vineyard plots located at the northern end of Chassagne-Montrachet near the Puligny border, planted on gravelly, clay-limestone soils. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented using native yeasts in French oak barrels (22% new oak). The wine aged on its fine lees in barrels for 12 months before resting in stainless steel tanks for an additional 7 months prior to bottling.

Tasting Note:

The wine opens with aromas of ripe orchard fruit, citrus oil, white blossoms, subtle white peach, and hints of hazelnut and wet stone minerality. The palate is rich, fleshy, and generous, showing concentrated stone fruit and citrus flavors balanced by a crisp, saline acidity. The finish is long, clean, and persistent, ending with a fine mineral tension.
