Domaine Francois Carillon Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Champs Gains" 2022, 750ml

This 100% Chardonnay is sourced from nearly 2 hectares of plots in the 1er Cru Les Champs Gains in Puligny-Montrachet, planted on brown limestone soils. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented with native yeasts in French oak barrels. The wine aged on its fine lees in barrels for 12 months before resting in stainless steel tanks prior to bottling.

Tasting Note:

The wine opens with aromas of lemon confit, lime zest, sweet citrus blossom, and subtle white pear, complemented by hints of petrol, iodine, and crushed flint minerality. The palate is powerful, concentrated, and expansive, offering rich orchard fruit and citrus flavors balanced by a sappy, intensely mineral-driven structure and vibrant energy. The finish is long, firm, and persistent, ending on a tangy candied lemon note.
