Domaine Jean Tardy Gevrey Chambertin "Champerrier" V.V. 2021, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from old vines (around 60 years) in the Champerrier lieu-dit, located below the Champeaux Premier Cru on the Brochon side of Gevrey-Chambertin with stony clay-limestone soils over mother rock. The grapes are hand-harvested, fully destemmed, given a cold pre-fermentation maceration, and undergo alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts followed by 18-20 days total cuvaison. Aged 18 months in oak barrels using 25-30% new wood.

Tasting Note:
Aromas of black cherry, dark fruit, licorice and spice on the nose. Firm attack. Concentrated fruit on the mid-palate with structured tannins and fresh acidity. The finish shows good length and 10-15 years of ageing potential.
