Domaine Matrot Meursault 1er Cru "Blagny" 2019, 750ml

100% Chardonnay sourced from old vines averaging 35 years of age planted in the Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru climat on clay-limestone soils with limestone rock subsoil. The domaine practices reasoned viticulture with organic fertilization and regular ploughing of the soils. The grapes are hand harvested and whole bunch pressed in a pneumatic press, followed by slow alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts over 8 to 10 weeks in barrel and 100% malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 12 months on lees in French oak barrels aged between 1 and 3 years with 15 to 20% new oak, followed by a final 6 months in stainless steel vats.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of lemon, yellow apple, stone fruit and subtle hazelnut on the nose. The palate shows concentration with vibrant acidity, creamy texture and pronounced minerality. The finish is long, saline and composed.
