Domaine Jean Charles Rion Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits Pinot Noir 2021, 750ml

This 100% Pinot Noir is sourced from estate-owned plots located on the plateau above Premeaux-Prissey and Comblanchien, situated at altitudes between 300 and 400 meters. The terroir consists of stony clay-limestone soils. 100% destemming followed by a cold pre-fermentation maceration to preserve aromatic freshness. Fermentation lasted 15 to 18 days in temperature-controlled vats. The wine aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 15% to 20% new oak. After blending, it stayed in the bottle for 4 months before release.

Tasting Note:

The nose is fresh and elegant, featuring aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, and a hint of forest floor. The palate is light to medium-bodied, showing vibrant acidity and fine, silky tannins that support flavors of crunchy red cherry and a subtle touch of spice. The finish is clean and persistent with a classic stony minerality.
