Tyrrell's "Vat 1" Semillon 2019, 750ml

100% Semillon sourced exclusively from the oldest dry-grown vines (planted in 1923) on their own roots in the HVD Vineyard, Pokolbin, Hunter Valley. The vineyard features ancient sandy, free-draining soils. The grapes are hand-harvested in the cool of the night, gently pressed, and only the free-run juice is used. The wine is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel tanks with lees contact and no oak used. It is released with significant bottle age.

Tasting Note:

The 2019 opens with aromas of lemon, lime, green apple, white peach, and subtle wax with flinty mineral and light honey notes. The palate is vibrant and precise with bright citrus and stone fruit, intense minerality, mouthwatering acidity, fine texture, and a long, pure, cleansing finish. Tight, complex, and built for long ageing.
