Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay 2023, 750ml

100% Chardonnay sourced from vineyards throughout Napa Valley with a small percentage from Sonoma. The grapes were whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented, and aged for 8 months in French oak barrels with approximately 30% new oak. Only a small percentage (around 8-10%) underwent malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and vibrant acidity, with lees stirring to enhance texture.
Tasting Note:
The 2023 opens with aromas of ripe pear, golden apple, white peach, lemon curd, and chamomile with subtle toasted oak and mineral notes. The palate is medium to full-bodied with bright stone fruit, creamy yet fresh texture, balanced richness, lively acidity, and a long, harmonious finish with hints of baking spice and citrus.
