Kavalan Peatist ex-Bourbon Cask, 700ml

This is part of the Peatist Series focused on exploring peated malt. Produced using premium peated malted barley and distilled in traditional Scottish copper pot stills, the spirit is matured in American ex-bourbon casks. This bottling is a single cask strength single malt whisky with an alcohol by volume of 54.8%.

Tasting Note:

Aroma: Light presence of peat smoke that transitions into layers of tropical fruit including mango, banana, and fragrant longan. These notes are followed by the sweetness of coconut cream, vanilla, and honey.

Palate: smooth with flavors of vanilla butter cake and sweet tropical fruits balanced by warm oak and coconut.

Finish: The texture is velvety and leads into a finish of silky vanilla custard, a lingering smoky peat, a refined wood spice and a persistent, balanced smokiness.
