Domaine Jean Marc Boillot Volnay 2022, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir sourced from 40+ year-old vines planted in Les Pluchots, Les Famines, and La Gigotte—communal lieux-dits located just below the Premier Cru Carelles in Volnay. The vineyard benefits from full-day sun exposure and minimal wind, contributing to ripeness and concentration. Grapes were manually harvested and fermented with partial whole clusters (0–50%) using native yeasts in concrete and stainless steel tanks. The wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, with 30% new oak.

Tasting Note:

The 2022 opens with aromas of bright red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, damp earth, and subtle spice. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh red fruit, silky yet structured tannins, lively acidity, good depth, and a long, earthy, mineral-driven finish. Elegant, balanced, and classic with fine ageing potential.
