Domaine Rapet Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2022, 750ml

100% Chardonnay from approximately three hectares across two main parcels in the Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, with the majority (around 90%) from the En Charlemagne climat on the Pernand-Vergelesses side and the remainder from Le Charlemagne on the Aloxe side. Vines include a mix of old plantings (some dating to 1945 and 1950) and younger ones on thin marl soils over limestone. The grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented and aged primarily in 350-liter French oak barrels with around 30% new oak, plus some larger vessels, with lees ageing and no bâtonnage.

Tasting Note:

The 2022 opens with aromas of lemon peel, green apple, white pear, toasted nuts, white flowers, and saline mineral notes with subtle oak spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with layered texture, rich yet precise citrus and orchard fruit, lively acidity, glossy concentration, and a long, mineral-driven finish. Powerful, harmonious, and built for ageing.
